Bottom Line
Anca Benera (Romania),
Delta (The Nederland),
Rémi Rivoire (France)
You are kindly invited to the opening of the exhibition on
Wednesday, 31 March 2004 at 8 p.m. at Škuc Gallery.
In the group exhibition entitled Bottom Line the following artists
will be presented: Dutch artist Delta, Romanian artist Anca Benera
and French artist Rémy Rivoire. All participating artists will
be presenting their work in the Slovenian cultural arena for the
first time.
The exhibition will be based on the principle of form specific,
since the artists will adapt their ideas to the actual spaces
of Škuc Gallery. Materials used will be of the like of sticky
tape, card and wool threads, and ping-pong balls. The structures
will fit into the spaces and will in various ways transform the
walls, or rather, the rooms, of the gallery. The basis of all
works will be line as a means by which the visitor can operate
according to his/her own imagination and thus create three-dimensional
images by using his/her sense of creativity.
Ance Benero's project will be a spatial installation, which the
young Romanian artist will use to alter the gallery space with,
in her own unique way. For the Škuc Gallery specifically she will
create a project entitled Welcome. The artist has already presented
her works at numerous group exhibitions in Italy, Germany and
Turkey, and has also had several solo shows.
Delta, who lives and works in Amsterdam, is an artist who uses
graffiti as a point of departure in his works. This is a constant,
which accompanies his creative process from wall graffiti to oil
on canvass, to video and sculpture. The artist takes part in,
and presents his work at various artistic venues, and works for
various world-famous labels within industrial and music production
- Calvin Kline, Linkin Park, DJ Vadim (Ninja Tune Records), etc.
Young French artist Rémy Rivoire notates images only by the contour
of their structures. He uses sticky tape as a means of notating
the visual image, which allows the viewer, with its two-dimensional
quality, to form his/her own depth of the given representation.
The artist will "draw out" a piece of work entitled
Stuka on the walls of the Škuc Gallery using black sticky tape.
